A Buneary?

Well, it could've been something more common, but she really didn't have room for two Lopunny running about at the moment. Nonetheless, it was a rare pokemon to have in Blanca. Surely someone would adopt it and take good care of it. Frowning lightly at the thought of anything less than that, she approached the large fenced area on the Wyndham property.

Stopping at the fence, she leaned onto it and watched the free roaming pokemon for a few moments. Looking over to the Buneary standing at her side, she spoke softly. "Well, Wes. This looks like your new home, at least for a little while." Leaning down, she patted the pokemon gently while trying to be reassuring.

Now... just where did she have to go? Surely someone was about.

And indeed someone was about. More specifically, the owner of the ranch himself, sitting on the porch of his farm house, sketching something on a pad. At first, he doesn't quite notice that anyone's there, but eventually, he catches the sound of Julian's voice and looks up.

"Sugar, issat you?" he said loudly as a grin crossed his face. "I didn't expect to see you 'round here today."

Ah! Even better than a farmhand! At the voice however, Wes scurried to hide behind Julian.

"Well, I can't say I exactly planned it that way," She admitted, and then moved aside to reveal the real reason why she'd randomly shown up.

"Though to be fair, I can't say I mind it either. Anyway, this lil'one's the actual reason for me droppin' in on you like this."

Glancing at the Pokémon in question, Artemis couldn't help but smile and reach to scoop it up.

"Well, what d'you need for the li'l fella?" he asked.

Blink.

"Well, nothing, really. Just some place for 'im to stay and wait for someone to take him home." She smiled.

"I mean, they're not native to this region, so surely someone would want him. He's cute as a button, too, though one bunny is enough in my hands."

With a shrug, Artemis smiled at Julian. "That ain't a problem at all, sugar. I'll take good care of him 'til someone else comes along."

"Thanks, love. I do feel a bit bad about it, but.." Julian leaned in to rub the Buneary under the chin.

"I think he'll do just fine."

Once again, the doctor found herself walking up the familiar path to the Wyndham property.

With her was a Gardevoir wearing a very neutral expression.

"I'm sure you'll find someone who has a bit more of a suitable lifestyle," Julian said gently. Things were admittedly a bit awkward between her and the Gardevoir - they always had been, but now it felt worse since her owner has been murdered.

She wanted to make this quick, and quietly hoped that Clarice wouldn't seem too upset when it came time to say goodbye.

Seemingly unaware of their presence, Artemis opened his door with a book in hand and every intention of heading to his workshop on his mind. However, when he spotted Julian and the Gardevoir, he stopped short.

"Well," he said. "Hello there, sugar! Fancy seein' you here again."

Smiling once she saw her favourite inventor, as much as she would enjoy staying and chatting with him, she really did have to be getting back to the clinic.

Gently nudging the psychic type forward, she spoke again.

"I came to drop off this dear."

Artemis eyed the Gardevoir for a moment. Then, he broke into a smile.

"Well, no problem! There's plenty of room on the ranch." He offered a hand to Clarice. "Don't be afraid, sugar. I ain't gonna bite you."

When he didn't inquire much about her, Julian relaxed.

"As much as I'd love to stay a chat, love, I'm a bit busy today. Thanks for takin' care of her."

He blinked. Well, that was new.

"Uh, sure, sugar. I understand."

And with another smile, he led Clarice away.
